Scotweb’s MD, Dr Nicholas J Fiddes, has written a free illustrated e-book, as a gift to help kilt lovers everywhere. In simple non-technical language it covers every aspect of buying a kilt, choosing your tartan, and accessorising an outfit for every occasion.
As a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, and founder of the world’s first company to market kilts on the Internet (yes, Scotweb) no one is better qualified to offer such advice. Impartial and objective, this is a personal work and is not a Scotweb publication.
It fastens the wrong way for a boy, but other than that nice quality, was worn with pride

This kilt was for a wee lad in the band who was deperate to march but was yet too small to carry the drum he can play, so we let him carry the flag at the pipefest here in Bexhill in May this year, he was a real bobby dazzler and wowed the crowds. And it didn't crucify the band funds, always a consideration when you have junior members still growing by the minute.

We purchased a kilt to dress the 5 mos. old son of my nephew-in-law, who is a bagpiper in the St. Andrews Society in Springfield, IL, USA. We dressed him in the kilt and took him to a function where his father was playing as a surprise. His father was surprised and pleased as were the members of the society and the audience. We also had his picture taken with his parents at the function. I am uploading a photo.
We were very pleased with the kilt and the service we received from your company. We placed the order at the last minute and weren't sure if we would receive it in time, but you surpised us with the efficiency and speed. We were also impressed with the communication. You e-mailed us with everything we needed to track the progress of the order. Your website is very user friendly and one I will use again.

They look good. Only a proper scot can see the difference - and that is when looking up close. "You get what you pay for" but given that kids grow so quickly it is hard to justify many hundreds of $$$ on a kilt they might only wear once before growing out of. Better to splurge and buy one of each size - you will have a kilt to fit your continually growing child.
